I'm excited to share my very first post! I recently upcycled a thrift store find! It was so much fun, and I was asked to share how I did it. Since I've been thinking of starting a sewing blog for a while, I figured this would be the perfect time to start it!
I started with this dress. I had been going thrifting for a while, but hadn't found anything that inspired me. As soon as I found this, I knew it was what I had been looking for! I loved all the fabric in it and I immediately imagined something for me and my little one (since my two older girls are now too cool for my sewing projects).
I then used an existing peplum style shirt that I have. I placed it on top of the dress and cut it out leaving space for the seam.
After that, I used online measurements and a current skirt to make my little one's skirt. I was able to keep the current hem!!! I also appliqued a heart to an existing shirt for her, and made a matching bow. I even had fabric left over !
We are now ready to go out with our mommy and me matching outfits ;)
